Connect or Change the Credit Card on File for Billing

3 min read · 2 views

Revamp365 stores your card with Stripe, not in the app, so adding or replacing it happens on Stripe's secure hosted page. You open that page from inside Settings, swap the card, and Stripe redirects you back. Keeping a current card on file is what lets your subscription renewal, metered usage invoices, and credit top-ups charge without failing.

Open the card update page

Both entry points below open the exact same Stripe page:

  • Most accounts: Go to Settings → Payment History, then click the Update payment method button (it has a credit-card icon). The button reads "Opening..." while Stripe loads. Payment History is in your Settings sidebar on every plan.
  • Prepaid-credit accounts: Go to Settings → Billing, then click Manage in Stripe Portal. That button only shows once your plan card reads as paid; a Free account sees Upgrade to Pro+ and Add Credits there instead.

Either button sends you straight to Stripe's payment-method update screen. When you finish, Stripe returns you to your Payment History page.

Add or replace the card on Stripe

On the Stripe page:

  1. Enter the new card number, expiration, CVC, and billing ZIP.
  2. Submit to save it as your default payment method.
  3. Stripe redirects you back to Revamp365 automatically.

The card becomes the default Stripe charges for your next subscription renewal, any usage-overage invoice, and any credit top-up. Updating the card here also clears a past-due state once the retried invoice succeeds.

If you do not see a button yet

The portal needs an existing Stripe customer record. If you have never subscribed or bought credits, clicking the button returns "No billing account found. Please subscribe to a plan first." Start a plan or buy a credit pack first, then return — the card you enter at that first checkout becomes your card on file.

How the card on file is used

Charge type When it runs
Subscription Each renewal on your billing date
Usage / overages When metered charges are invoiced
Manual credit top-up At checkout when you buy a pack
Auto top-up Off-session when your balance drops below your threshold

Your first successful charge marks your account as having a payment method on file, which is what unlocks auto top-up and lets off-session usage and A2P messaging fees clear without prompting you each time. To turn that on after your card is saved, see understand billing, usage, and overages.

Troubleshooting

  • Button shows an error like "Unable to open billing portal": wait a moment and click again; the Stripe session call can fail transiently.
  • Charges still failing after the swap: confirm the new card actually saved as default on Stripe and has not expired, then reopen the portal to verify.
  • Removed your only card: add a replacement before your next renewal or auto top-up, or those charges will decline and your account can fall past due.
